Right To Buy
Right to buy schemes are designed to help council tenants currently renting to purchase their homes at a discounted rate.
The amount of discount you will receive will depend on a number of factors including how long you have been a tenant, the type of property you rent and the current value of your home. You will need to check with your local authority with whom you currently rent to obtain the exact details of the right to buy discount you may be entitled to.
Most lenders will allow you to borrow 100% of the discounted purchase price whilst others allow you to borrow extra money for any home improvements you may wish to carry out.
